What is meditation? Meditation is a precise technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is totally different from the normal waking state. It is a mind and body practice used for reaching a state of awareness without thinking on thoughts.
What are the benefits to meditation? There are many physical, mental and emotional benefits to meditation. But meditation is a practice – like any form of exercise the more you do it, the better you get and the more benefits you receive.
Can anyone join a meditation class? Yes, sitting in lotus pose is not required – although it is what everyone sees and thinks. In reality, being comfortable when you sit or lay down is required.
4-week meditation series:
Sundays starting 10/18 (10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/15 – *no session 11/8) from 1:00 – 1:45pm.
