Carle Health & Fitness Center Group Fitness Classes provide a great way to work out in a fun, friendly environment. In addition, you can find motivation and inspiration from the GX community, add variety to your workout, and learn proper form to prevent injury.
We offer over 50 classes per week in a variety of formats. All classes are led by our expert instructors and are able to be modified so that you can participate with the pace and activity that fits your comfort level. Group Fitness classes are offered in-person at CHFC and also available from the comfort of your home…or anywhere, with Your Wellness Anywhere.

Aqua Blast is a cardiovascular workout using your own body weight and our water resistance equipment. Easy on joints and for all skill levels. Come blast your way to improved health.
Our AQUA Fit is a low impact workout designed for individuals with Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, or those wanting to start exercise after prolonged inactivity. The warm water is optimal for helping joints achieve full range of motion and strengthen supporting muscles. The emphasis is focused on increasing and maintaining one's strength, flexibility and independence. This class is taught by a certified aquatic instructor who can provide modifications for all levels.
Designed for a total body workout with slow progression and controlled movements using the water for resistance. Exercises are done while standing or while suspended in the water with a prop for strengthening core muscles.
A higher intensity cardio aqua class designed to follow the Tabata format of interval training.
Barre Fusion is a dynamic combination of ballet, pilates, yoga strength and cardiovascular training that will sculpt your body and get results. This class offers a total body workout for every fitness level, age and body. Every participant will feel challenged, successful, and empowered. We will learn to be aware of what is right for our own bodies to get optimum results. We will improve posture, flexibility, strength, balance, and fitness.
A ballet inspired workout to tone and strength muscles.
Alternate between short periods of high intensity exercises and less intense recovery periods in this 45 minute cardio and strength class. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga ideal for the beginners. You'll use the aid of a chair to perform posture and breathing exercises to improve balance, strength, flexibility and stress relief all without having to get up and down from the floor.
Core & Stretch
A class designed to focus on strengthening your core, lengthening your body while also increasing your heart rate and burning fat!
Forever Strong focuses on strength, balance and mobility to help us build confidence with the needs of everyday life. This class will provide modified cardio and strength training coupled with balance exercises to increase overall movement safety and confidence. Designed for all abilities with plenty of options to meet you where you are at.
Gentle Yoga for Every Body
This class is directed toward understanding the Self – beginning with proper alignment of the physical body in a wide variety of yoga postures. Yoga props are used to accommodate stiffness, pain or injury. The practice will blend strength and stretch, effort and ease, movement and stillness.
Group Active® gives you all the fitness training you need – cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility – in just one hour. Get stronger, fitter, and healthier with inspiring music, adjustable dumbbells, weight plates, body weight, and simple athletic movements.
GROUP POWER® is YOUR HOUR OF POWER! Blast all your muscles with this high-rep weight training workout. Using an adjustable Barbell, weight plates, and body weight, Group Power combines squats, lunges, presses, and curls with functional integrated exercises. Dynamic music and a motivating group atmosphere will get your heart rate up, make you sweat, and push you to a personal best! POWER UP!
Hatha yoga involves a combination of breath work, and gentle warming movements to build strength, flexibilty and relaxation. Focus on standing poses and basic seated work that is suitable for all levels. Participants will also experience meditation exercises.
HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training)
HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training. Expect this class to be challenging. This class is great for increasing endurance and speed. Incorporate this workout into your routine to produce results.
This class uses plyometric training in the water to help reduce impact to your joints while increasing your power and endurance. The water provides resistance, but you control the intensity of your moves making this class great for beginners and more advanced intermediate participants alike.
When it comes to fitness classes, everyone's level 10 is different. In this class, hitting your own level 10 means pausing a conversation after one or two words, so you can catch your breath. For some, reaching this level 10 may occur quickly or with just the first few exercises. For others, it might require more challenging variations of the drills everyone will be doing. Either way, 45 minutes of non-stop, high-energy motion focusing on cardio, coordination, balance, toning and strength will let you hit your level 10 regardless of your fitness level.
This is a class you'll want to talk about, but will need to catch your breath first.
Mat Pilates exercises are performed in a slow, controlled, precise manner and require an intense concentration. These exercises help strengthen the body's core by developing pelvic and scapula stability, and abdominal control, using focused breathing patterns. The main fitness goals of a mat Pilates program include improved flexibility, muscle tone, body balance, spinal support, low back health, sports performance, and body-mind awareness.

This class is for anyone who needs to be easy on their joints and transitions are done in a progressive manner to equalize blood pressure and prevent dizziness.

This 45-50 minute cycling program brings the outdoor ride - inside. Saddle up for an efficient high intensity interval training (HIIT) cycling experience that strengthens your legs, improves heart and lung function, and increases your determination to be fit for life.
Interval-based cadence training class takes you through sprints, hills, and mountains.

Total Body Strength
Total Body Strength is a pure strength class that focuses on opposing large muscle groups in your body. It will challenge you to keep progressing and growing stronger as you push to your edge with appropraite progression suggestions. Modifications will always be an option as well.
Total Body Tabata
Total Body Tabata will work us from our fingertips to our toes. Tabatas are intense intervals where we exercise for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds for 8 sets using weights and body weight moves. Each class is designed to do 8 tabatas focusing on cardio, lower strength, upper strength and core set to upbeat pop hits. The intensity is guided by you with options provided for every exercise.
Vinyassa Yoga is a breath initiated practice, that connects every action of our life with the intention of moving towards what is sacred, or most important to us. Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another seamlessly, using breath.
WERQ® is the wildly addictive cardio dance workout based on today's hottest pop, rock, and hip hop music. It's your energizing hour of dance fitness.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles.
