Personal Trainer

full and Part Time

The Personal Trainer is a key member of the Fitness Team. Must display a concentrated knowledge of specific training and performance-related matters including, but not limited to: sports and human performance, general nutrition principles and personal and/or small group training. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: A Personal Trainer must be experienced in overseeing and executing a best-in-class sports performance program which is inclusive of incorporating cutting-edge science and research alongside proven and effective training techniques and applying it to youth, as well as elite level, athletes to maximize their human potential and performance. The Personal Trainer will also be responsible for the execution of the personal and small-group training ancillary service line and delivering a highly-motivating and well-organized experience.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certifications such as, but not limited to: NSCA-CSCS, NASM- PES/CPT, NATA- AT, BLS/AED

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pass Background Check

Lifeguard Attendant

Part Time

It is the responsibility of the Lifeguard Attendant to ensure the health and safety of the patrons in the Lap Pool, Therapy Pool and Spa, as well as the aquatic deck. The Lifeguard must be fluent in the Emergency Response Plan of the center and able to execute those procedures. In addition, the Lifeguard will be asked to enforce the pool rules on a consistent basis.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS: 

Applied
• Ensure the health and safety of the patrons in the Lap Pool, Therapy Pool, Spa, as well as the Aquatic Decks as per department polices and American Red Cross guidelines.
• Execute efficient and appropriate emergency response when needed.
• Enforce pool rules/regulations in a respectful, fair, manner and educate on the rationale for the rules when needed.
• Assist patrons as needed, only without compromising the safety of others using the pool(s) and spa.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth in the Aquatics Staff Manual
• Lifeguard should be clean and attired with issued guard suit, hip pack, tank top, whistle and name tag.

Administrative
• Responsible for the upkeep of all aquatics equipment to include general preventative maintenance, and requesting service in a timely fashion.
• Maintain safe environment for members and clients of the center.
• Routinely complete the department’s daily task check sheet
• Attend required staff/evaluation meetings as requested.
• Arrive at least 5 minutes early for assigned shift and cover all assigned hours.
• If unable to work, lifeguard is responsible for finding and approved substitute.
• Maintain appropriate level of fitness to efficiently perform all job tasks. Swimming 500 yards/wk is required.
• Attend to the cleanliness of the pool areas and its equipment.

General
• Proficient with all current facility policies and procedures and ensures all operations and practices of the department satisfy those policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates a team approach by displaying the willingness to embrace a “facility first” attitude and exceeding expectations in any way possible.
• Accepts constructive criticism/direction and effectively changes own performance.
• Able to lead by example in living a healthy lifestyle.

    Fitness Coach

    Part Time

    The Fitness Coach is a key member of the Fitness team. Must be able to develop and administer a comprehensive pre-activity screening and design an appropriate plan of care that includes an appropriate exercise prescription. Has a concentrated knowledge and mastery of exercise prescription and fitness for a wide scope of populations. Is able to apply the department’s health risk stratification policy to ensure all clients safe initiation of exercise in the center. Duties will also include executing day-to-day operations, providing supervision to members exercising on the fitness floor, delivering safe and effective personal training services, assisting administering medically-integrated programs, and potentially instructing small group classes.

    POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

    • Embody core values and service delivery model. 
    • Competent in conducting a comprehensive pre-activity screening, including executing the center’s health risk stratification policy, on a daily basis.
    • Demonstrates ability to create, execute, and modify an effective exercise prescription based on the pre-activity screening findings for general and special populations.
    • Provide safe and effective personal training services to the facility’s membership.
    • Proficient with conducting educational presentations and seminars on various health and wellness related topics.
    • Committed to providing the best services possible by maintaining current certifications, attending continuing education seminars, and reviewing industry literature.
    • Demonstrates the ability to safely operate all equipment and services related to the Fitness and Wellness Department or other assigned tasks and hold all appropriate certifications to do so.
    • Provide appropriate re-direction to members performing dangerous or harmful exercises.

    Administrative

    • Able to effectively document client assessments, progress, and achievement.
    • Demonstrates competency in managing client scheduling, client contacts, and member tracking software
    • Responsible for the recognizing and reporting all malfunctions of fitness equipment including upholstery issues.
    • Maintain safe environment for members and clients of the Center.
    • Routinely complete the department’s daily task check sheet

    Management

    • Provide prompt and customer- friendly follow up to members and clients. Decipher when a concern is required to be elevated to a supervisor or manager.
    • Provides general supervision for clients participating at the facility and is committed to customer service excellence.

    General

    • Proficient with all current facility policies and procedures and ensures all operations and practices of the department satisfy those policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrates a team approach by displaying the willingness to embrace a “facility first” attitude and exceeding expectations in any way possible.
    • Maintain cleanliness of fitness floor areas and equipment
    • Able to lead by example in living a healthy lifestyle.
    • REPORTS TO: Fitness and Wellness Supervisor

      DIRECT REPORTS: None

      EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field (Exercise Physiology, Sports Medicine, or Athletic Training)
      • Current BLS/AED Certification
      • Nationally Accredited Personal Training Certification such as, but not limited to: NATA- AT; ACSM- HFS, CES; NASM- CES, CPT; ACE- CPT

      HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

      • Pass Federal background check
      • Fluent in the English language
      • Legal to work in the United States
      • Minimum of 1 year of exercise prescription for healthy and special populations.
      • Excellent organizational skills, recording keeping ability and relationship development skills

    Licensed Massage Therapist

    ABC Childcare Associate

    Part Time

    Integrated Wellness Partners is hiring Childcare ABC Associate to join the Carle Health & Fitness Center team. Childcare ABC Associate position is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, fun, and friendly environment for children who visit the ABC club. ABC associate will also deliver world-class customer service to families while they are in the Center.

    POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

    • Greet members, children and guests with world class service
    • Be creative with programming and activities for children
    • Engage and interact with children during entirety of shift

      Group Fitness Instructor

      Full Time/Part Time

      We are looking for Group Fitness Instructors with a high-energy, engaging group exercise class format that attracts and retains the Center’s membership base. The instructor must be outgoing, personable and have the ability to motivate members and actively teach assigned courses. Dependability is critical as is the ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to the needs of the members and the class schedule, from early mornings, mid-morning, afternoon and evening.

      EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

      • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
      • Nationally accredited fitness certification not limited to AFAA, ACE or ACSM. We also accepted format specific certifications such as MOSSA. .
      • Looking for Instructors in all formats!
