Wellness Wednesday – Trainer Tip – Supersets/Circuits

SuperSET Yourself Up for Success

Supersets and circuits are effective tools to keep yourself moving during a workout and keep your heart rate elevated for longer periods of time during a training session. A superset is the concept of performing two different exercises back-to-back, followed by a short rest period. Typically, a superset is performed for multiple rounds and may target opposing muscle groups (for example: pushups and rows). A circuit is a group of three or more exercises completed for multiple rounds with a brief rest between rounds. Circuits and supersets not only have the potential to improve cardiovascular endurance by maintaining an elevated heart rate, they also provide a fun way to switch up your workouts while saving you time on rest.
