The importance of walking and getting your steps in
Sedentary behavior has remained stable or increased from 2001-2016 in the American population, while screen time outside of school and work has increased. A great way to combat these behaviors is to walk more. Walking has many physical and mental health benefits including lowering your risk of chronic disease, improved sleep, more energy, better mental health etc. Walking is great because it is something that almost everyone can do. Make your walks even more effective by doing them outside. The CDC recommends to get 10,000 steps per day (5~ miles). I would recommend to evaluate how many steps you are currently getting and try to make improvements from there.
