From the Wellness Team: Wellness Wednesday Trainer Tip – Confidence In the Gym

Tackle your day at the gym!

Having confidence means that you have the belief that you can accomplish a task. When you’re new to the gym, it can be tough to have confidence in this new setting. One big thing you can do to combat the lack of confidence in the gym you may have is meet with a trainer for an IFA (Initial Fitness Appointment)! This process can give you some direction while you’re here; you’ll meet with a trainer to talk about your goals and preferences, then they will take you through the workout to make sure you are comfortable with it. Some other things you can do to build your confidence in the gym are coming in with a plan, work out with a friend, mental preparation, or even dressing in clothes that make you feel confident in yourself. Any of these things could help you feel prepared to tackle your day at the gym!
