Bracing the core is an extremely important part of any exercise. This ensures that your core is strong and not bending or moving in a direction or way that could result in injury. Some easy steps to think through in your mind are:
- Breathe big into your stomach. This will create a strong and balanced feeling around your body that will keep everything in place.
- Focus on contracting all muscles in your abdomen, oblique’s, and lower back. Think as if you were about to get punched in the stomach and how you would tense your core muscles.
- Keep brace all the way through each repetition of the exercise
- Take a new breath and re-brace each time you are performing a new repetition.
